Lucky in Springtime

LJ's spring time swap over on Splitcoast is a broad themed swap-- the only requirement that it be Spring related, and since Karsyn was born in the spring, St. Patrick's Day to be exact, spring is lucky for us.  I also wish my spring semester student teachers good luck as they graduate and venture out to the world of teaching.  Plus, these colors are REALLY pretty!

SU cardstock, Pear Pizzazz ink, and Goodluckabella image.  On the inside, it is stamped "Lucky You (and lucky me for knowing you!)" from SU! Hostess set.  Colored with Copics.

Love Notes

I don't do vintage very often, but I did for my dearie Kelli Jo.  She is hosting a vintage Valentine ATC swap over on Splitcoast.

Colored image is from a blog I found after Googling "vintage vanentine digital."  It was free, and adoarble, so I snagged it, printed on cardstock, coated with shimmer spray and set to the side.  I layered SU cardstock, printedd paper from Colorbok, and some vintage looking sheet music from Lindsay's Stamp Studio at My Grafico.  I distressed the sheet music, piled on the shimmery heart image, used a "Love" stamp that I heat embossed, then finished with embellishments of red sting and clear gems.

Casting Spells with Cutie Smiles....

How cutie-patootie is that smile!  This is the scrapbook page for October 2011.  What an adorable witchy-poo for Halloween!

The page is 12 x 12 adorned with a handmade tag using $1 stamps from Michael's, black glittered cardstock cut with my Cricut (words and 2011), finished up with 3 gem stones on the bottom left corner.

Thanks for hanging in there with me for another year!

For My Volunteers...

How cute are these mini paint cans????  I made these for my parent volunteers at school.  They really do spoil me by helping out with copying, cuting, laminating, stuffing folders & mailboxes, helping with reading & math groups, just about ANYTHING I ask!  As a thank you, I decorated these mini cans (Target $1 Spot on Black Friday), then filled with scented lotions, peppermint foot rub, lip balm, etc.  I am really so lucky to have these parents in my class!

I will attached a tag with the following note:

You are so sweet
To "pamper" our class
With all your help.
Here's a little treat just for you.

Thanks for being a "Scent" sational volunteer!

Wrap it Up in Style!

This first scraf is a polar fleece scarf that I snagged at Old Navy on Black Friday for a buck.  I added the crystal monogram iron-on (at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents!).  This gift was quick and easy to make, and so pretty in real life!

Here's the same idea, basically, except I bought the pill free polar fleece for $5.25 at Hobby Lobby (on sale, 30% off!).  I bought one yard of it and was able to cut it into 4 strips.  Each scarf measures 60" long by 9" wide.

These babies are so EASY to make and look like a million bucks (well, almost... $10 at least!)  Don;t forget to snag coupons and use them to help lower the costs too.  Next year, I think i might be a bit more adventureous and make these wraps from crafty and cooking momma.

Hobby Lobby (they ONLY accept their own coupons)
Michaels' (they do take competitor's coupons, but it is only 1 coupon per person per day)

monogrammed candle

I know monogrammed items are a b-i-g thing again this year, so here is what I've got-- take a 16 oz. jar candle that I picked up for $1.97 on Black Friday, added some wire mesh as a wrap, embellished with green ribbon and a monogram.  This gift looks like it is worth WAY more than the actual price!

Another use for the cricut and vinyl!  I  L-O-V-E my reusable plastic drinking cups with straws, and since everyone seems to have them these days, how cool is it to personalize one for a friend or teacher for he holidays.  The only thing I caution you about is the cup is no longer disherwasher safe after it has been altered.  I typed up a little note to let the recipent know the cup must be hand-washed with a damp cloths only.
